ESCST offer an international meetingplace and forum for all CS therapists worldwide. CS students are also very welcome. This is an opportunity for everyone to create connections all around the world. And also international relationship for our Scandinavian therapists exploring the possibility to practice worldwide. Our international colleagues can also exploring the possibility to work in Sweden, and the other countries in the Scandinavia.
Remember we all have a truly fantastic work and we at the ESCST believe that we all together can create a change in the world if we all great therapists sharing and supporting each other. Respectful greetings, Christer, D.O., Jörgen Tranberg, N.D. (Directors and Founders of European School of Craniosacral Therapy.
Michael Kern will be back 27-30 september 2012 in Gothenburg Sweden.
The course subject will be shortly announced.
THE SURFER ON THE TIDE - STILLNESS, MOTION AND RHYTHMIC BALANCED INTERCHANGE
WITH MICHAEL KERN D.O., R.C.S.T., M.I.Cr.A.,B.C.S.T., N.D.
IN GOTHENBERG, SWEDEN
FROM DECEMBER 1ST - 4TH 2011
This advanced seminar will explore the relationship between our physiological function and stillness. There is a basic ground of stillness that lies underneath all expressions of life and motion; a realm of unmanifest reality at our deepest nature that is behind and prior to all that we do. Most significantly, healing occurs at its deepest level when we are able to reconnect to this core level of being. As Dr. Rollin Becker stated, “Health is related to a return to the freedom of interchange between body physiology and stillness.” We will explore different levels of stillness and find new ways to make these part of our cellular experience. There will be ample time for table work, reflection and meditation.
Areas explored will include:
- the state of balanced mind
- the state of balanced mind
- three dimensional awareness of the three bodies: physical body, fluid body and tidal body
- floating/suspension and coherent function of the three bodies -
- health as dynamic stillness and primary respiration
- working with the relationship between the fluid body and primary respiration: transmutation and embodied forces -
- orienting to the stillness of the midline in the centre of the listening field
- Dr Sutherland's principle of "idling"
- stillpoint, autonomic activation and rebalancing
- EV4 from the scapulae and the heart field
- stillpoint and ignition at the third ventricle: CV3 and EV3
- the different (seven) levels of stillpoint
- the embryological enfoldment of form within space
- orienting to and facilitating space in tissues, fluids and potency
- letting go into stillness and doing nothing
- orienting to 'rhythmic balanced interchange'
- the infinite potential of dynamic stillness.
Teaching will be in English and translated into Swedish. This workshop will include 32 hours of classroom attendance.

BEHIND THE SMILE
EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION -THE FACE, THE THROAT AND THE HEART
With Katherine Ukleja, D.O.
Gothenburg 9-11 November 2012
Our feelings and emotions are revealed on our face and in the tone of our voice.
Musculoskeletal structures of the face, the ear and throat share a network of nerves, known as the Social Nervous System, which co-ordinate facial expression and vocalisation with the regulation of heart rate and breathing. This 3rd division of the Autonomic Nervous System enables orientation, communication, co-operation and empathy. Malfunctions of this system result in conditions in which a person can’t communicate, can’t feel pleasure and consequently lead to depression, isolation or anti-social behaviours.
This 3-day course will explore:
- The intricate bony structure of the face and the musculature of the face, the ear and the throat. These structures, together with their neural network, originate in the pharyngeal folds between the developing brain and heart,
- The Polyvagal Theory of Stephen Porges
- Vagal tone, heart rate variability and social engagement
- The importance of good vagal tone for babies and infants.
- Practical biodynamic cranial strategies for enabling social engagement and healthy heart regulation
